Tsunami Studios was founded in the year 2012 and since then we have accomplished the following:

⦁ 2013, we won Aitec Africa’s Broadcast Film and
⦁ 2015, music Award for Best Film and Content Developer and another in at the DXD awards for the best audiovisual category. The studio was also featured on Dubai One TV’s Peeta Planet series and our work has also been featured on BBC.
⦁ 2016, our studio’s creative director got a Certificate of completion to the creative and Tech Industries scale-up Accelerator by ADMI (Africa digital media foundation). Our service based content we developed for MaishaEDU partnered with the Higher Education Loans Board Kenya (HELB) to provide its content to 300,000+ Kenyan youth annually.
⦁ 2017, We also got accepted into the Tony Elumelu Foundation entrepreneur program. Our short film Thank God it’s Friday got accepted in the 38th Durban international film festival. Another short film named Ma-Otero that we worked on in collaboration with Avandu, was amongst the finalists in the animation category at the Kalasha film awards in 2017. We won during the Movie Jabber event in 2017: Comixplosion for best comic pitch and similarly won at the Naiccon event in 2017: Animation competition for best animation pitch.
⦁ 2018, We won at the Naiccon event with our short film The Next rainbow directed by Salim Busuru, and in collaboration with Avandu. Our studio also had the privilege to have our Founder and Creative Director appointed as the chairperson of the Animation Association of Artists in Kenya (A3K).
⦁ 2019, we partnered with Movie Jabber to create Otamatsuri the first-ever African Anime Festival.
⦁ 2020 we partnered with Buni Media and Story moja.
